Our pets are full of personality, each one completely different, and choosing from the many pet costumes available this 2011 Halloween season can be a littel overwhelming at times. Whether it be a pet cat costume or a unique dog costume, yours pet halloween costume this year will be one to remember.
This is why some adults consider their animals to be their kids. Dogs truly are man's best friend and that is why you will see some dogs doing the strangest things. Animals, dogs especially, will do anything to please their owner. The owner will do anything to promote his dog's personality, even dressing him up in funny pet costumes. Of course, the pet costume will probably lean toward an owner's infatuation with certain characters. For example, if you have a black dog and you love Darth Vader, what will your dog be at the next costume party you attend?
Granted, most of us do not take our dogs to costume parties, but there are some eccentric pet owners out there. There are also those who consider dressing up animals in funny pet costumes to be animal cruelty, but everyone else knows, dogs love it. They love it because they love getting their owner's attention. Owners who dress up their dogs do so because they love to spoil them.
Just as parents allow their sons to dress up as pirates or their daughters to dress up as ballerinas, so pet owners allow their animals to dress up in funny pet costumes. The rest of the world, the ones who do not understand this silliness, will just have to learn to roll with it. There's a whole world available to pets that many have yet to tap into. Does it harm the animal? No, on the contrary, your dog will be more rounded. Of course, if you have a male dog, dressing him up as Princess Leia may not be acceptable to him.
The point is funny pet costumes allow you to treat your pet more like a kid. It allows you to be creative and helps the dog adjust to being more sociable. Who could walk by your dog dressed as Yoda and not comment? Okay, so maybe you will like the attention too. Your dog as Darth Vader, you as Luke Skywalker, and perhaps Princess Leia will meet up with you as you tour the block.
